CORPUS CHRISTI - While shoppers are gearing up for the upcoming Black Friday shopping chaos, some local stores are opening up even earlier than last year.
Stores all over town are preparing for the onslaught of shoppers that will flock to find great deals this holiday season.
"We're just shopping around to getting a quick idea of all the specials and everything going on for Thanksgiving and after Thanksgiving," said Best Buy shopper, Tanner Worley.
But this year, Black Friday is starting even earlier at some local stores. For instance, Target. Instead of opening up at 12 am, Target will open its doors at 9pm Thursday evening. That's a 3 hour difference from last year.
And Toys R Us? They will let people in 8pm Thursday, an hour earlier than last Black Friday.
Seeing as how WalMart is open 24 hours a day, they don't really have Black Friday hours, instead, they will have 3 separate sale events at 8pm, 10pm Thursday and 5am Friday morning.
But Best Buy will be keeping it's midnight opening, though employees don't think there will be any lack in holiday business because of it. And even with the new hours, some veteran Black Friday shoppers say they aren't looking forward to the long lines and total chaos.
"A lot of it is chaos, it all depends on the timing. And every year it it's like it gets worse and worse. And so, now, people start camping out the day before and things like that. And I don't have time for things like that," Tanner said.
