CORPUS CHRISTI - "I have a four year old grandson that I didn't want to spread that to. So I just stayed in away from everybody until I sweated it out," Theresa Coats explains.
She is talking about the flu. something she was afraid of just days ago.
"It frightened me because like I said they had a case on the news where a guy had it and it came back even worse so it did kind of frightened me," she reflects.
Today is her first day after recovering. i spoke with her after she finished getting tested for diabetes.
There have been a total of five deaths related to the flu and the recent one was from older woman who was also diagnosed with diabetes.
"Something that we tend to forget is the things that carry the virus. The virus can basically live for two hours on any surface", Dr.William Burgin Jr says.
