PORTLAND, TEXAS - A 70-year old woman stabbed several times at her home is now out of hospital. She had been in the hospital since Friday night when she was stabbed in the stomach.
Police say a 15-year old boy broke into her home Terlingua Drive where she fought off her attacker and managed to injure him.
A blood trail led police to the teen who was accidentally shot in the leg by an officer as he was being arrested.
Portland police say the teen suspect underwent surgery on Monday and is recovering.
The District Attorney will decide what kind of charges the teen will face once he is released from the hospital.
