CORPUS CHRSITI - At 5pm on KRIS 6 News, you'll get a behind the scenes look at the Simulation Lab at Spohn Memorial, where young doctors practice their craft before meeting the real thing, face to face, down in the Emergency Room.
The SimMan 3G is a $100,000 robot that recreates all the pains, wounds, bodily fluids and realism of actual, human patients. And the doctors are able to take what they learn from the SimMan, and apply it to the real-world, life or death situations that they will later face in the ER.
Tonight at 6pm, you'll get to see the doctors in action as they try and save the life of "Fred," a man who was seriously injured in a car accident. A scenario these doctors see all too often in Corpus Christi.
