CORPUS CHRISTI - Customer information from Spec's liquor stores were stolen in a year and a half long hacker attack that's impacting customers at 34 of the companies smaller stores.
A release from the Houston-based company says less than 5 percent of customer transactions at the stores were impacted. The affected stores are in Corpus Christi, Robstown, Baytown, Bryan, College Station, Conroe, Cypress, El Paso, Kingwood, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands.

According to Spec's someone accessed their network from October 2012 to March 2014. Data on customer credit cards, bank accounts, and personal information were at risk of being stolen in the attack.
The company has hired a forensic investigator and is working with the Secret Service to find the person responsible. A spokesperson also says the company is working to improve the security of their network.
Customers are advised to contact their bank if they notice any suspicious activity. A year of free fraud protection is also being offered to customers who qualify. Online - https://specsonline.allclearid.com
The company also encourages customers to obtain a free credit report provided by law once a year, via http://www.annualcreditreport.com or call, toll-free, 1-877-322-8228.
