SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A South Texas man has been arrested after law officers searched his home and discovered a pipe bomb and materials used to make explosive devices.
Federal prosecutors say 20-year-old Michael Keich of D'Hanis remains in custody pending a detention hearing later this week.
Investigators say Keich was arrested Tuesday on charges of manufacturing an unregistered weapon and manufacture of an explosive without a license.
Bomb squad members searched the suspect's home in D'Hanis, about 35 miles west of San Antonio, and recovered a pipe bomb and items that can be used to make explosives.
Prosecutors on Wednesday did not immediately respond to a message about whether Keich has an attorney or other details of the case.
If convicted, Keich faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
