CORPUS CHRISTI - The teen accused of killing his mother in a brutal manner will head to trial on a murder charge. The Nueces County Grand Jury reviewed the evidence in the case on Thursday and issued the indictment against 18-year-old Kevin Davis.
Investigators say Davis confessed to killing 50-year-old Kimberly Hill at her apartment back in March.
According to the arrest affidavit, the mother was strangled with an electrical cord, hit over the head with a hammer and stabbed in the head.
Detectives stated they also found notes suggesting Davis planned on killing his sister when she came home, but she never did return that night to the Windrush Apartments on Kostoryz.
Davis was arrested the next morning after he asked to use the phone at a home out in western Nueces County. He called 911. The couple who lives there says the teen had a bicycle and a backpack stashed by some nearby railroad tracks.
A trial date has not been set.
