FLOUR BLUFF - People passing through Flour Bluff may want to consider getting gas. Residents there, say the gas war is on between HEB and Walmart - the prices per gallon keep dropping.
People were waiting in line to fill up and say they saw the prices change several times.
"Two days ago it was 3.12 and then yesterday I came by and it was 3.06 and then today I came by and it was 2.97," one driver said.
Plummeting prices a few pennies at a time, has drivers hitting the pumps.
"I drive anywhere from 400 to 500 miles a week," a driver said.
"I think it's great, it's been a while since it's been this low so it'll be a nice break for everybody around here," one man said.
There's no telling what prompted either mega-store to start slicing prices.
At the HEB for unleaded you're going to be paying 2.97 a gallon which is a few cents cheaper than Thursday and over at the Walmart's gas station, it's 2.95 a gallon, but prices may vary.
People are making sure to top it off, even hoping the battle over gas prices continues.
"It keeps the gas prices down quite a bit so hopefully it stays this way and goes down a little but more," a driver said.
"I like that, that's good for us actually when there is a competition it helps us too," another person added.
There's no telling how long this gas war will last but when that tank tilts toward "E" these drivers say the price is right.
"12 gallons at 36 dollars that's good, that's 2.95 that's good," a man said.
