CORPUS CHRISTI - Emergency crews rushed six people to the hospital this afternoon following a major crash on Highway 77 near Bishop.

Officials say the driver of a Chevy Impala ran a stop sign in front of a Corvette heading south.

The impact did not cause visible injuries to everyone involved, but they were complaining of neck and back pain. The driver of the Impala was taken to an area hospital by Halo Flight.

Authorities shut down the road for some time to allow the helicopter to land on the roadway.

The driver of the Impala will be cited for the crash.
