Sherwin Alumina: Red Dust Not A Public Health Threat

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Sherwin Alumina plant in Ingleside insists the red dust floating across town in the high winds this weekend do not pose a risk to public health.

Several homeowners contacted KRIS 6 News after they were worried the red dust that covered their homes and cars.

A company spokesperson says workers are doing what they can to control dust coming from the red mud storage facility, but in winds around 45 miles an hour it becomes difficult.
