ALICE - Jim Well's County Sheriff's Deputies had to bust down the front door of a home in west Alice that was barricaded by wood and large metal braces.
Inside the home, they recovered $4,000 in cash, a gram of cocaine, some synthetic marijuana, small scales, security cameras and a shotgun. Deputies are still working to determine the owner of that gun.
David Villagran and Yvette Anguiano were arrested on drug possession charges.
Deputies say they carried out the drug raid after getting tips from neighbors concerned about suspicious activity at the home.
"We can't be everywhere at the same time and a lot of calls from the public that we get helps us do things like in this case here. If they see something unusual or a large amount of traffic in a certain place that just doesn't seem right for that neighborhood, you know call your local law enforcement," says Ray Ramon, Chief Deputy Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department.
Two young children, ages two and four, were also inside the home when authorities arrived. The Sheriff's Department says the two children are now staying with relatives
