KINGSVILLE - On Thursday afternoon Santa Gertrudis seniors Danielle Gonzalez and Carla Noel made program history becoming the first softball players to ever sign National Letters of Intent.
Noel, who signed a full-ride with Blinn College, has been an All-District performer her an entire career. While Gonzalez, who has also been an All-District and All-State regular, inked with Langston University in Oklahoma.
"I have been playing softball with Carla since I was 10-years old so there is nobody I would rather had by my side today so this was a great moment to share with her," said Gonzalez.
"Signing with her today was one of the biggest things I could ever imagine, I have been waiting for this day since I was since 10," said Noel.
