CORPUS CHRISTI - A series of explosions destroyed a shed behind a trailer home near NAS- Corpus Christi this afternoon.
Fire investigators now say the shed was used for welding and a spark from welding equipment or a lit cigarette may have started the fire on the 900 block of Weaver Street.
The shed was leveled when several oxygen tanks inside exploded which knocked out the home's back wall. A photo sent in by viewer John Cohen shows a large fireball above the residence.
Three people inside the home were able to get out safely.
It took 30 minutes for crews to get the flames under control.
A power line above the shed was damaged leaving several homes nearby without power. No word on when the line will be repaired.
