FREER - The National Weather Service reports a quarter to golf ball sized hail hit just north of Freer and piled up on the ground up to 3 inches high.
A city official in Freer sent pictures of damage to the Budget Inn & Suites and the Alamo Lumber Company. The National Weather Service says damage across town was caused by 60 mph straight line winds, not a tornado.
The Freer Fire Department reports roof damage to home and business in Freer. Several tin sheds damaged as well as powerlines down. Some are still without power this afternoon in Freer.
Additional reports from the public of roofs blown off barns, windows broken, and fences blown down. A trampoline and swing set are missing.
