CORPUS CHRISTI - September is "World Alzheimer's Month" and according to Dr. M. Retta Martin, a Certified Senior Advisor and the owner of Home Instead Senior Care, an estimated 70% of people with Alzheimer's Disease live at home. This makes support for those caring with loved ones who suffer from the disease so important.
A new smartphone app -- "Alzheimer's & Other Dementias Daily Companion" -- has just been launched to assist caregivers in meeting the challenging behaviors that often result from the disease. Additionally, the "Confidence to Care" at-home kit is available free for those who request it. You can find more information on both by visitng www.homeinstead.com.
A free workshop will be held Thursday, September 26th from 9 AM to noon at the Homewood Residence, 410 Meadowvista Drive in Corpus Christi. It is designed for those who want to know more about how to care for someone with Alzheimer's Disease.
