Seniors Given Fans to 'Cool Corpus Christi'

CORPUS CHRISTI - Senior citizens in need of help keeping cool in the South Texas heat got some much needed help from Meals on Wheels. Many of the recipients are just unable to afford high electricity bills in the summer and don't run their air conditioning.

KRIS Communications partners with the City of Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department collect donations for the 'Cool Corpus Christi Fan Drive.'

Enoch Maldonado with Senior Community Service tells us, "They've been gracious and everything. People don't realize how people need fans, they can't afford fans. And it all has to do with funds and how they can't afford an air conditioning unit in the house."

"It gets mighty warm inside the house," says David Rittgers.
