Senior Cabinet Officials Make Case for Syria Strikes

WASHINGTON (AP) - Senior Cabinet officials have gone to Capitol Hill to testify to the Senate Armed Services Committee, as the White House looks for additional congressional support for a military strike against Syria.

It's in response to the Syrian government's alleged use of chemical weapons.

President Barack Obama met earlier today with more than a dozen lawmakers to push for an attack aimed at dismantling Bashar Assad's chemical weapons capabilities.

Afterward, leaders of both parties in Congress said the U.S. needs to act.
