CORPUS CHRISTI -- Police have arrested a second man in connection with a deadly shooting at a car wash last week.
Authorities arrested Brian Edwards, 42, after a brief pursuit that ended at the Times Market at Carroll Lane and Holly Road.
Police said they pulled Edwards over after the vehicle he was driving (a red Ford pickup truck) matched the description of one associated with a string of hot check crimes. When an officer started to pat Edwards down he took off running, but was arrested shortly afterward.
Edwards was also wanted on an outstanding murder warrant for the Feb. 11 shooting death of Juan Ramirez, 34, at a car wash on Morgan Avenue.
Court documents said Edwards exchanged text messages with Ramirez about drug sales before the shooting.
Police arrested Anthony Diaz, 29, in connection with the murder last week. Authorities said Diaz shot Ramirez several times, leaving him for dead.
Edwards is held at the Nueces County Jail on $750,000 bond.
