CORPUS CHRISTI - There is not much to complain about as far as the weather is concerned for the start of July with overnight lows dropping into the lower 70s, below seasonal average, and afternoon highs in the middle 90s with dry air and low humidity. The blocking weather pattern with high pressure sitting out west and low pressure in the east, with eventually fall apart this weekend and our more tropical climate will return.
Today, for the 4th of July, will be another nice one as temperatures climb into the middle to upper 90s under mostly sunny skies and some haze. There will be a few heat induced showers to our north, but will not be much. Winds: ESE 10-20
Tonight for the firework displays across the area, expect mostly clear skies and temperatures tumbling into the lower 80s around 9-10PM. Temperatures overnight will fall into the middle 70s with relatively light winds.
Beginning Sunday, tropical moisture in the Gulf will begin to push towards South Texas and humidity will return with a few showers. Temperatures do not move much from the upper 90s so with more moisture in the air that will mean heat index values will shoot up to the triple digits around 105-109.
Happy Independence Day!
