Search for Armed Robber Near Naples St. in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI - Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect on the 4300 block Naples. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 30 years of age, 5'10",180-190 lbs. He may be armed with a gun.

He was last seen wearing a blue jumpsuit and carrying a black backpack. Officers have shut down Christi St., Culiper and Alexander as they search for the suspect.

Police say the suspect robbed the Tobacco Junction smoke shop at 4346 Ayers around 9 a.m. and fled into the nearby neighborhood with several hundred dollars in cash.

Officers think they have him cornered and are searching the area with a K9 unit.

An advisory from police recommended residents in the area stay inside their homes. Area schools were also notified about the search.

The area is just off of Ayers Street between Horne Rd. and Gollihar Rd.
