SINTON - Cowboys and girls herded into the San Patricio Fairgrounds to watch some of the nation's best bronco busters battle for cash prizes. Some, came for the good food and carnival rides, while others relived their glory days.
"I used to ride horses. I've hit the ground a few times. It hurts. It hurts," said rodeo-fan, Glenda Riley.
But everyone was all smiles as they cheered on these courageous cowboys who certainly know how to take a hit.
"It doesn't feel real great. You know. But as long as you can get up and walk away from it, then I don't have anything bad to say," said bronco-buster, Cody Higgins.
With all the tough talk, I was feeling pumped up and wanted to get my time in the ring.
Of course I wasn't feeling up to taking on a full-grown bronco yet, so I started with something a little more my level.
The kids calf chase.
But in the end, I wasn't cut out for the life of a cowboy and moseyed my way back to the stands.
