CORPUS CHRISTI - The Duval County Sheriff's Office, San Diego Police, and the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department have arrested a woman accused of vandalizing the San Diego Cemetery over the weekend.
According to the San Diego Police, 28-year-old Rita Camarillo, also known as Rita Alaniz, was picked up at her home in the 600 block of West King Street in San Diego, Texas Monday night.
We're told tips from the public led them to Camarillo. She's charged with criminal mischief.
Police tell us Camarillo admitted to being responsible and said she didn't act alone. They're working on obtaining warrants for two males also believed to be involved.
It was overnight Sunday when vandals knocked over and damaged hundreds of headstones.
Families were forced to dish out a lot of money just to have the stones put back in place.
