SAN DIEGO - A developing story from the small town of San Diego, Texas where a high school teacher was removed from her classroom this afternoon for questioning about an alleged relationship with a 17-year-old student.
The complaint was filed with San Diego police this afternoon. The teacher and the student were questioned today by police.
The Duval County Sheriff's Office has also joined the investigation. We're told they're talking with the superintendent of schools and the high school principal about the claim.
So far, no arrests have been made.
Under Texas law, it is a felony for a teacher at a public or private secondary school to have a relationship with a student, regardless of the student's age.
