SAN DIEGO, Texas - The search is on in San Diego for vandals who knocked over several headstones at the local cemetery this weekend.
Many residents who have their entire families buried at the cemetery found headstones, statues and other grave side items smashed. Now, they're wanting to know why someone would do such a thing.
"This was unnecessary. There's a lot of things to do in life, and this is not one of them," says Vivian Sanchez.
"It's pathetic, to be honest with you. Very disappointed," says Jim Wells Co. Judge Abel Aragon.
"It's disgusting, angering, it's just so many different emotions in the sense that you can't believe. Who'd gain any pleasure in doing something like this," asked Mayor Rupert Canales.
Community members are coming together to pick of the pieces. City and county law enforcement are working together to the vandals and make them pay for what they did.
If you know anything about this crime the San Diego Police Department and Jim Wells County Sheriffs Office want to hear from you. They're offering a reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
