San Benito Mother Accused of Sending Child Porn to Corpus Christi Sex Offender

CORPUS CHRISTI - A follow-up investigation to the arrest of a wanted sex offender in Corpus Christi resulted in the arrest of a Rio Grande Valley woman for felony aggravated sexual assault of a child.

According to the Harlingen Police Department, U.S. Marshals in Corpus Christi arrested a man on January 19th who had pictures on his cell phone showing a woman and a naked infant girl in sexual positions.

Detectives in the Harlingen say the woman seen in the photos is Desiree Lee Padilla, 22, of San Benito and it is her child seen in the photos sent to the sex offender in Corpus Christi.

Padilla was arrested on February 8th in Harlingen. She's being held on a $75,000 bond for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

As of this morning, authorities have not released the identity of the sex offender arrested in Corpus Christi or stated a possible connection to Padilla.
