CORPUS CHRISTI - Nueces County is using a new electronic system to help voters prepare sample ballots.
It's called Live Ballot, and the County says it will save them work, and save voters tons of time at the polls.
There are 14 jurisdictions in Nueces County and 127 precincts. That means there are 87 possible ballots that a voter could see depending on where you live.
But this software makes sorting through that 87 as easy as a click of a mouse.
All you have to do is go to Live Ballot.com. You put in your name and date of birth, and the program generates the ballot unique to you.
From there, you make your picks, print it, and take it with you to the polls.
Then, you just copy your picks onto the real ballot.
The County says the ballots won't look like the real ballots, so they can't possibly get mixed up.
Plus, the program didn't cost the County a dime, they got the money from grants.
It also saves the County work. In the past, it took them days to fill create each unique sample ballot and post all the possibilities online.
Now, they can rely on the program.
The County hopes to have it up and running in about a month, in time for early voting for this upcoming November election.
