SEOUL -- The United States continues to hold talks with South Korea over recent North Korean threats.

Today in Seoul, the U.S. Treasury, under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence David Cohen met with South Korean officials to discuss new United Nations sanctions on North Korea.

Those sanctions tighten financial curbs on North Korea and order mandatory checks of suspicious cargo.

North and South Korea are still technically at war since the Korean War of the early 1950s ended in a truce without a peace treaty.
