CORPUS CHRISTI - People shopped to help pets this morning and into the afternoon at the "Rummage for Rescues." People donated the items at the rummage sale (like games, crafts and housewares) to help raise money for the organization People Assisting Animal Control (P.A.A.C.). The group helps to adopt cats and dogs from Animal Control. The president of P.A.A.C. says the money raised today will be spent on a light for the surgery room, vaccinations and heart worm testing for adoptable animals. They hope to raise $2,000.
"Their city budget is so limited right now and we understand that," said P.A.A.C. President, Cheryl Martinez, "So, we try to subsidize that by raising funds to help them so we do provide a lot of the medical supplies that they need for the animals."
