CORPUS CHRISTI - ROTC cadets from high schools around the region spent a day at the beach but there was no sunbathing going on. The Army ROTC Islander Battalion held the fourth Annual Islander Challenge.
The event at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi encourages friendly competition. There were many different things to do like a fitness test, rope bridge crossing and log carry, to name a few. One West Oso High School student right after he hit the obstacle courses who said the hardest part was kayaking. Around 20 teams competed in the Islander Challenge. The overall winning team got the Islander Commander's Cup.
