Rollover Crash Sends Two to Hospital

CORPUS CHRISTI - Two relatives remain in the hospital after a car wreck Friday night near Airline in which the driver was thrown from the vehicle.

Police say the driver was going southbound around 10:40 p.m. when he went through an old roadway where Airline used to be.

"The vehicle then lost control and then rolled several times, ejecting the driver. And there was also a female passenger that stayed with the vehicle," CCPD Capt. Jerry Vesley said at the scene.

The vehicle landed upside down in a ditch, and the driver landed 75 yards away from the car.

At last report, the driver was in critical condition at Spohn Memorial. The female passenger is in serious condition.

Police do not know if alcohol was a contributing factor.
