SAN PATRICIO CO.- A truck driver from Robstown is held on $1 million bond after the Department of Public Safety says they found 7,816 lbs of marijuana in the tanker he was hauling.
Paul Anthony Simmons, 45, was pulled over in San Patricio County on Tuesday. A trooper doing a routine check of commercial vehicles took a closer look and found the 3.9 ton load of pot.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $3.4 million.
A DPS official was unable to provide more information on the case citing an ongoing investigation.
