ROBSTOWN -- An elementary school that has been open for less than a year is expected to get a new name this morning.
Irma V. Romero Elementary School will change to Robert Driscoll Elementary school at a meeting.
Romero Elementary school was named after a longtime teacher who died after battling breast cancer.
Romero's husband, Osvaldo Romero, was the school board president at the time of the naming. He picked members of the committee to name the school.
Romero said that he followed the rules, and he never voted during the process.
Adolpho Lopez said the entire school board should have helped select the committee that chose the name, not just Mr. Romero.
