Robstown Holds Recycling Event

ROBSTOWN - Robstown tried to collect as many tires and as much trash as possible Saturday in an effort to clean-up the city.

The city received a grant from the Coastal Bend Council of Government, which it used to hold a collection event.

Folks dropped off tires, electronics, brush and other debris then the city hauled it off.

In the first hour, they filled up a box trailer of nothing but tires.

All the tires collected will be hauled off to the Rio Grande Valley where they will be recycled for playgrounds, key chains and other items.

And as for all that debris, the city will haul that off to the dump.

The city typically holds these events once a year, but thanks to the grant, this is second one this year
