CORPUS CHRISTI - An assistant football coach for Orange Grove ISD was arrested Tuesday afternoon for reckless driving and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
According to Orange Grove police, Rhett Bomar veered to avoid an officer with his emergency lights on to assist students in a crosswalk at a school zone.
The officer reported Bomar's Camaro went around the patrol car and through the crosswalk while students were crossing after school. Bomar pulled over for the officer about a block later.
According to the report Bomar told the officer he did not have his drivers license on him at the time.
He was booked into the Jim Wells county jail and has since bonded out.
