CORPUS CHRISTI -- A dramatic rescue tonight at the North Jetties near the Packery Channel.

Police say a father and son were fishing when both of them somehow ended up in the water.

The son hit his head and was - at one point - unconscious.

Apparently, a bystander heard the father screaming and came to the rescue by wrapping a strap around the drowning son.

But he couldn't lift him out of the water so rescue workers got him to the surface.

Police say the son is about 20 years old and - in addition to being cold - swallowed a lot of water.

He went to the hospital along with his dad who was exhausted.

But, they're both expected to be OK.
