CORPUS CHRISTI - Local college students looking to save a few bucks may want to consider renting textbooks rather than buying them.
Here's how it works: the student puts down a deposit and then pays a monthly fee for the college books. At the end of the semester, the student returns the books. Officials say the program is becoming more popular.
Lario Streight with Neebo Book Store Said, "We have been doing for two to three years now. It seems more and more people are now renting books. I think last semester we saved students close to a $100,000 because of rental programs. So, its becoming very popular again."
The Spring Semester at Del Mar College is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 14th.
