CORPUS CHRISTI - Reliant Energy kicked off its annual "Beat the Heat" program today. It is designed to help people who don't have proper cooling systems in their home or simply can't afford a cooling system.
Throughout the summer, anyone who wants relief from the heat can go to the Lindale Senior Center or the Greenwood Senior Center.
Reliant also handed out kits to help residents make their homes more energy efficient. If you're a Reliant customer you can also contact their customer care representatives if you may have difficulty with your energy bills this summer.
