CORPUS CHRISTI - Traffic investigators with the Corpus Christi Police Department have their work cut out for them sorting through an 8 car crash that shut down the intersection of Ayers and Holly before 2 p.m. Today.
Witnesses say the driver of a truck slammed into several cars at one side of the intersection before a red pickup came rolling through to the other side, without a driver, and hit several more.
The witnesses say the driver of the red truck apparently got out after he was rear-ended, but left the truck in drive. Those hit say they had nowhere to go.
Police did not want to speculate on which vehicle belonged to the man who caused the crash.
A total of three people, including the driver at fault, were taken to the hospital. Witnesses think the driver may have had some type of medical issue when he crashed.
