Ray's Relay Team Makes First State Appearance Since Late 1950's

CORPUS CHRISTI - The last time Ray High School sent their Relay Team to State gas cost 25 cents per gallon. Houses were less than $12,000, and that was the price for a brand new one.

That was 60-years ago, the late 1950's, but finally the Texans have run their way back to Austin.

"It's a big deal we never expected to be this good and we kinda clicked together and worked hard every day at practice and it's paid off," said Marcus Mosley.

This trip though isn't just about the experience or having fun, it's about making a statement to everyone in Texas.

"We'regoing up their on a business trip going for the gold and coming with the gold," said Ben Brooks.

And the team will hit the track Friday night at 6pm. They are seeded 9th.
