Ray's Alaniz & Flour Bluff's Relay Team Favorites for Gold at State Meet

CORPUS CHRISTI - The 2013 State Swimming and Diving Meet begins on Friday and Austin with a handful of locals expected to medal.
Four-year state qualifier and three-year medalist Zoe Alaniz, from Ray, is the top seeded Diver in the Girls 4A 1-Meter Dive. She told me this is her last chance to win gold, and would love nothing more than to end her high school career by going out on top.
"I feel like this has been one of my best seasons so I feel like I have the ability to do it and I am gonna try my best," said Alaniz.
While the Flour Bluff 200 Freestyle Relay team is also expected to medal if not win, the team is the top seed in Class 4A and already registered a time fast enough to make them All-Americans.
"Everyone is excited this is the first time Flour Bluff has been first at state and I think this is the first All-American relay to come out of Corpus Christi," said Oliver Garnier.
"There is gonna be competition and everyone is going for us, we will be one of the top teams there so we will be the team to beat," said Anthony Haughlum.
