CORPUS CHRISTI -- There's a local group of people that gather every morning in front of the Episcopal Church on Saratoga near Everhart. Many have driven by and wondered who they are and what they're doing. Father Bruce Wilson, the priest at the church explained that the members want to spread the message that there more to the church beyond it's walls.

"One of the reasons for being out in the parking lot is to quit hiding inside the building and just doing our own thing," Father Bruce said.

Father Bruce has been the priest of the church for two years now, he says everyday he and other members wheel chairs outside, put up a "Morning Prayer" sign and pray for 45 minutes.

"Let us be aware of God's presence within us and all around us," Father Bruce prayed.

He says the hope is to rekindle a relationship between the church and the surrounding neighborhood.

"This church began to just isolate. Rather than protecting ourselves and preserving ourselves, connecting re-connecting with our neighborhood with our community and the other churches is our highest priority," Father Bruce said.

The three members sit in a close circle and say they pray, read scriptures and try to give hope to people who seek help.

"We've had people come by with family problems, financial problems, fears to help them get through a situation," Father Bruce said.

The group says some people have even pulled up a chair to share the silence of the holy spirit and a few not so silent honks hello!

"We get several honks nearly every day from people, it's their way of saying I'm with you guys, I'm praying with you, thanks for praying for me," Father Bruce said.

Father Bruce encourages anyone in need of prayer to stop, have a seat and bow your head.
