CORPUS CHRISTI - Half a dozen protesters stood outside State Representative Abel Herrero's office this afternoon to voice their opposition to House Bill 2.
The Texas House of Representatives is expected to vote today on the bill that would restrict abortions in the state. It would restrict abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy and require all abortions to be performed in a surgical center.
The group who stood outside the State Representative's office say Herrero has turned his back on women and they are demanding he vote against the bill. One protestor Lisa Hernandez says "A vote in support of House Bill 2 means that women in Texas are property. The men in Texas, the lawmakers get to decide what i should be making with my doctor in the privacy of my home but Texas lawmakers, Rick Perry and Abel Herrero included think they know more and they don't trust me to make decisions about my own body. So, i might as well be property of Abel Herrero."
Hernandez is encouraging all opponents of House Bill 2 to contact State Representative Abel Herrero's office before it's too late.
