DALLAS (AP) - Prosecutors have wrapped up their case in the sentencing trial of a Dallas woman who admitted beating her 2-year-old daughter and gluing her hands to a wall.

Elizabeth Escalona faces up to life in prison after pleading guilty in July to attacking daughter Jocelyn Cedillo last September. Police say the 23-year-old mother attacked the toddler due to potty training problems.

Before resting their case Tuesday, prosecutors questioned three Dallas police officers about previous encounters with Escalona.

A doctor testified Monday that Jocelyn was hospitalized for about one week with injuries that included bleeding on her brain, a fractured rib and severe bruises.

A state district judge will decide Escalona's punishment.
