Propane Gas Leak Near NAS Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI - Part of Naval Air Station Corpus Christi had to be evacuated Thursday morning because of propane gas leak.

Around 10:00 am, someone at the base smelled gas and called the fire department.

A valve on a 10,000-gallon tank located off base had blown and was releasing liquid propane.

While city gas crews worked on the leak, a second valve to a separate tank started leaking.

Gas crews were able to fix both leaks and no one was hurt.
