Probation Officer Out of a Job

Probation Officer Charged with DWI Now out of Work

CORPUS CHRISTI -- The Nueces County Adult Probation officer charged with D.W.I. no longer works for the probation department.

John Beattie, 56, was arrested Nov. 30 after police said he was driving the wrong way on I-37 northbound before hitting a pickup truck.

Beattie, who worked for the department for more than a decade, was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Probation department officials would not comment on whether Beattie was fired or resigned.
