Premont Girl Killed in Fall During Chase

PREMONT, Texas - Lisa Rene Ramirez would be celebrating her 13th birthday on January 14th, but her life ended abruptly and tragically on New Year's Day.
She and another girl were in Ramirez's stepdad's truck when, according to Israel Sanchez, the girls picked up his brother, 13 year old Francisco Antonio Arredondo, from his house in Premont.
According to DPS and police reports, Arredondo was driving when Trooper Frank Rios began chasing their vehicle just off Highway 281. Arredondo told police the kids panicked, and after a short chase, all 3 bailed out. Rios was able to get Arredondo in custody, and that's when they noticed Lisa on the ground motionless.
We spoke with AnnaArredondo's mother. "I feel so bad that that little girl passed away and I feel so bad for the parents. The mother. The dad, but I can't go back on time to change that.
Lisa's body was found in a driveway on the 100 block of NW 6th Street in Premont. She had apparently fallen and hit her head as she tried to get away.
According to the DPS report, Trooper Rios gave Lisa CPR until paramedics arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Premont Police report says Arredondo told them the 3 kids were planning to buy 'kush' a synthetic marijuana.
DPS and Premont Police say no charges have been filed, but that an investigation is under way.
Arredondo's family told us he's been charged with failure to maintain a vehicle and driving without a license.
Lisa's family has already asking for donations to help with funeral costs.
