CORPUS CHRISTI - A morning power outage at Carroll High School sends 2,000 students home who only came to the campus to make up TAKS and STAAR tests.
The students need to pass the tests in order to graduate. When they arrived this morning the air conditioning was not working, so parents were called to pick them up.
AEP was able to get the power back on today. CCISD officials made the call to cancel testing because too much time was lost.
Some parents were upset the district did not have a backup plan in place. "We are going to now have to wait until Friday so they can be prepared, not the students, but the administration to administer the test."
