Powdery Substance that led to San Patricio Courthouse Closure May Have Been Kool-Aid

SINTON - New information is being released today about the suspicious envelope that led to the evacuation of the San Patricio County Courthouse in Sinton Friday.

The courthouse was shutdown after an employee noticed a powdery substance on an envelope sent to the Vehicle Registration Office.

County officials say that substance turned out to be some type of powdered drink like Kool-aid or Crystal Light.

The letter had been sent by an out of state finance company which was contacted over the weekend by the F.B.I. Agents found traces of that powdered drink on the desk where the letter had been sealed.

The San Patricio County Courthouse reopened this morning.
