PORTLAND -- Fire crews spent about an hour battling a fire in Portland Wednesday night.
The house is on Diomede... between Moore Avenue and Memorial Parkway.
Trick-or-Treating wrapped up early in the neighborhood as kids and parents watched the blaze ravage a home.
Flames engulfed the second floor and shot from the roof.
The two-alarm fire started just after 8:00 p.m. and firefighters had it under control in about 50 minutes.
The homeowner says he was Trick-or-Treating with a group of friends when he smelled the smoke.
He couldn't believe it when he found out his house was going up in flames.
Craig Justice said, "I had no idea it was my house until I got here. Total shock. Total shock. I'm still in shock right now."
Justice says he has home insurance that will help to cover the damage if it can even be repaired.
For now, he'll be staying with friends and family until he decides what to do next.
Three Portland firefighters were on the scene of the fire and we're told 11 firefighters helped to battle the blaze.
Investigators are still looking into what caused this fire.
