PORT ARANSAS - A Port Aransas woman who survived a brutal beating earlier this month is asking for the public's help to hind the man who attacked her.
35 year old Erin Wilson met us at the place where it all happened Thursday afternoon, Port Aransas Beach near the Horace Caldwell Pier. She says it is a night she will never forget.
Wilson says she was sitting in her car around 2am. She says she was listening to music and watching the waves trying to relax when a man stuck his arm through the window and began to choke her.
"He took his other hand and was touching me, down there so I know he wanted to rape me. And I started to hit him and that's when he started to hit me," said Wilson.
She now has a metal plate under her eye because her bone shattered, and she no longer can see with her left eye. But Wilson says no matter how hard he hit her she wasn't going to let him win.
"I just thought well he better kill me before he tries to rape be because I'm gonna fight to the end," said Wilson.
Wilson was able to escape and drive away. She called police and was taken to the hospital. Police are investigating the attack, but Wilson says she has one thing to say to the person who attacked her.
"I'm gonna make it my life mission to make sure that he gets put away. No matter what it takes. I'm gonna get this sicko off these beaches," said Wilson.
Wilson says she never saw her attacker's face. All she knows is he is a slender white man. If you know anything about the assault contact the Port Aransas Police Department.
